Pelvic Area Care

In esthetics, pelvic area care means hands-on care around the hips, lower back, and soft tissue surrounding the pelvis. It does not mean repositioning the pelvic bones.

The pelvis and surrounding area

The pelvis is a ring of bones connecting the spine and legs. In a service name, pelvic area may be used more loosely for the lower back, buttocks, and hip area. Bone and surrounding soft tissue need to be distinguished.

Pelvic correction and Skeletal Balance

Pelvic correction is used with different meanings in exercise, manual therapy, and advertising. Esthetic care should not claim to correct pelvic bone position. Skeletal Balance is Meccrom’s term for observing posture, side-to-side movement, and surrounding soft tissue when planning care.

Medical boundaries

Persistent hip or pelvic pain, difficulty walking, pain after injury, or sensory changes after childbirth need medical assessment.
