Incheon Skin Care Review: Breakouts While Taking High-Dose Steroids

This is the record of a customer who developed sudden facial breakouts while taking high-dose steroid medication after a lupus diagnosis following the birth of her two children. She visited Meccrom Incheon Namdong through a friend’s introduction.

She told me that additional dermatology medication or procedures were difficult at the time because she was already taking a high dose of steroids. Her lupus care and steroid prescription remained matters for her medical team.

At Meccrom, I did not treat the condition or adjust her medication. I first listened to her medical history, current prescription, and skin discomfort, then explained the limited scope of non-medical esthetic care.

She did not leave a written review. I have documented the case as the person who consulted with her and carried out her care.

We reviewed her medication history and current skin first

Although many breakouts had appeared at once, I did not begin with extraction. We discussed when redness appeared, whether the skin felt dry, which products she used, and any precautions given by her medical team.

Rather than pressing the skin or adding several intensive steps at once, I selected the routine according to how her skin looked and felt at each visit. The studio’s body care and skin-comfort program were also kept within a range that did not feel burdensome to her.

As she continued care, she said the breakouts looked calmer to her and that her body also felt more comfortable. She later told us that her steroid dose had been reduced. Any change in steroid dosage must be decided by the prescribing clinician and cannot be attributed to esthetic care.

These photos and comments belong to one customer’s record. Medical condition, medication, skin condition, and the changes someone notices after care can vary.

Medical care for lupus remains separate from esthetic skin care

Anyone diagnosed with an autoimmune condition or taking prescription medication should not reduce or stop medication on their own. New skin changes should be discussed with the treating clinician, including whether non-medical esthetic care is appropriate.

Meccrom Incheon Namdong does not diagnose a condition or change medication. I personally ask about current medical care, prescriptions, instructions from the medical team, and when the skin feels most uncomfortable before explaining whether esthetic care can be provided.
